Dear partners!

My name is Valerija Karba and I’ve been teaching English in primary school for 5 years. My teaching experiences date further back, when I was working for various language schools. At the same time I was actively involved in a non-profit organisation as an organiser of educational and cultural events mostly related to the world of electronic media.

I love project work, therefore my students participated at two e-Twinning projects in the last couple of years. At the moment our school is involved in a Comenius project, where I also take part with some of my students. I was attracted by this learning cycle too and hopefully my students will like it as well.

I will try to do my best to motivate them and arouse their curiosity. Through this project they will gain an insight into the worlds of teenagers belonging to different cultures and backgrounds. We will be working on this during our regular lessons and at home as circumstances require.

Otherwise I spend a lot of my free time in the nature, possibly surrounded by horses. They are my greatest passion and I own a two year old stallion. They say “there is something about the outside of a horse that is good for the inside of the man”. I very much believe so J

OUR CLASS AND OUR WORLD

Hello everyone!

We are 14 year old students from the 9th class of the primary school. Next year we are going to the secondary school. At our school classes are divided into three groups, according to our ability to learn. These are so called levelled classes and our group belongs to the highest level of English.

Our day starts at about 7 o'clock. After we eat our breakfast, we go to school and meet our friends. The first lesson starts at half past eight. Our lessons are 45 minutes long and we have about six lessons every day. At 10 am we have brunch. The last lesson finishes at 1.45 and after that we have many activities to do, but mostly we just like walking around the town and hanging out with our friends. We all love 'kebab', which we can buy just across the road from our school.

Our school is very big and it is surrounded by a beautiful park with lots of trees. It has two big gyms, fitness and two big playgrounds outside. There is also a tennis court and a football pitch nearby. We like that, since in our free time we love to do sports. Our hobbies are pretty similar, because there aren't many different options here. Namely, we live in a quite small town, where many people know each other.

If you ask us what we think of our school, each of us will answer differently. However, even if the school isn't the most modern, it certainly has a cosy atmosphere, which makes learning easier. The students are nice and teachers are nice too. Our favourite subjects are PE, English, Biology and Chemistry.

When you enter our school, you will probably notice a lot of very nice artwork, made by the students with the support of friendly art teachers. The school is also decorated with many flowers, which makes it friendlier.
